Midwest Fencing Conference Championships at University of Notre Dame (March 3-4, 2007)

Lawrence had a combined team finish of 12th among the 18 teams.
The Lawrence women finished ninth among the 17 teams. Lawrence was sixth in epee, 11th in sabre, and 12th in foil.
Lawrence's fencers and their placements were: Melanie Kathan (foil, 20th), Alice Schoen (foil, 22nd), Jessica Grasso (epee, 23rd), Chiara Terzuolo (epee, T27th), Elise Pfaltzgraff (foil, 30th), Christina Bartell (sabre, 31st), Ashley Beranek (sabre, 34th), Meghan Bonham (foil, 42nd), and Emma Martinson (sabre, 44th).
The Lawrence men were 16th overall among the 18 teams. The Vikings were 12th in foil and 14th in epee and didn't field a full team for sabre.
Lawrence's fencers and their placements were: Benjamin Smith (epee, 27th), Muneyuki Okamoto (epee, 38th), Bryce Schuler (foil, T40th), Peter Kilkuskie (sabre, 48th), Jason Smoniewski (foil, T50th), and Brian Rauwerdink (foil, T58th).


Northwestern University Duals (February 24-25, 2007)

The Lawrence women finished 3-6 in the duals, picking up wins over Farleigh Dickinson (14-13), Detroit Mercy (14-13), and Cleveland State (14-13). The Vikings lost to Johns Hopkins (18-9), Temple (23-4), Northwestern (25-2), North Carolina (22-5), Michigan (20-7), and Michigan State (16-11).
Women's records for the day were: Meghan Bonham (foil, 0-12), Melanie Kathan (foil, 4-21), Elise Pfaltzgraff (foil, 3-10), Alice Schoen (foil, 7-18), Jessica Grasso (epee, 22-4), Elizabeth Marshall (epee, 4-22), Chiara Terzuolo (epee, 10-16), Chrstina Bartell (sabre, 9-17), Ashley Beranek (sabre, 8-18), and Emma Martinson (sabre, 1-25).
The Lawrence men were 0-7 in the duals, losing to Notre Dame (27-0), North Carolina (26-1), Penn State (27-0), Detroit Mercy (19-8), Michigan (19-8), Cleveland State (19-8), and Michigan State (19-8).
Men's records on the day were: Joseph O'Halloran (foil, 0-10), Brian Rauwerdink (foil, 0-11), Bryce Schuler (foil, 5-16), Jason Smoniewski (foil, 4-17), Muneyuki Okamoto (epee, 6-15), Benjamin Smith (epee, 6-15), Bao Ha (sabre, 5-16), Peter Kilkuskie (sabre, 3-18), and Kenneth Weinlander (sabre, 4-17).


University of Notre Dame Duals (January 20-21, 2007)

The Lawrence women were 2-6 in the duals. Lawrence defeated Cal State Fullerton 18-9 and beat Detroit Mercy 15-12. Lawrence was defeated by Cleveland State (15-12), Stanford (19-8), Notre Dame (23-4), Wayne State (22-5), UC-San Diego (25-2), and Ohio State (26-1).
Women's records for the day were: Christina Bartell (sabre, 7-14), Ashley Beranek (sabre, 5-16), Emma Martinson (sabre, 0-21), Melanie Kathan (foil, 1-20), Alice Schoen (foil, 5-16), Meghan Bonham (foil, 0-10), Elise Pfaltzgraff (foil, 3-8), Jessica Grasso (epee, 8-12), Chiara Terzuolo (epee, 5-15), Elizabeth Marshall (epee, 1-19).
The Lawrence men went 0-8, with losses to Cleveland State (21-6), Stanford (25-2), Notre Dame (23-4), Wayne State (15-12), UC-San Diego (25-2), Ohio State (27-0), Detroit Mercy (18-9), and Northwestern (16-11).

Northwestern University Duals (November 18-19, 2006)

The Lawrence women posted a 7-4 dual record. Lawrence defeated Wisconsin (16-10), Oberlin (19-4), University of Chicago (14-13), Illinois (20-4), Case Western Reserve (17-4), Purdue (17-8), and Minnesota (18-4). Lawrence was beaten by Michigan (20-7), Indiana (14-13), Michigan State (19-8), and Northwestern (26-1).
Women's records for the day were: Christina Bartell (sabre, 14-9), Ashley Beranek (sabre, 10-13), Emma Martinson (sabre, 3-20). Melanie Kathan (foil, 18-8), Alice Schoen (foil, 14-12), Jessica Grasso (epee, 17-4), Chiara Terzuolo (epee, 11-8).
