Lawrence at Midwest Conference Indoor Track Meet at Knox College (March 3-4, 2000)
The Lawrence women's team took fourth place with 57 points. Monmouth won the title with 163 points. Courtney Miller led Lawrence by winning the 800 meters in 2:19.78 and taking second in the 1,500 in 4:45.74. Other top-five finishers for Lawrence were: sprint medley relay (second, 4:16.47), 1,600 relay (third, 4:11.15), Sarah Slivinski (fourth, high jump), Sally Schonfeld (fourth, 1,500), Becky Doyle (fifth, 1,500), Shelley Ebert (fourth, 800), and 800 relay (fifth).

The Lawrence men tied for sixth with 27 points, and Monmouth won the title with 27 points. Jumuah Harden led Lawrence by taking third in the long jump (22-5 3/4) and third in the triple jump (43-10 1/4). Other top-five finishes for Lawrence were: Mark Smrecek (fourth, shot put), Peter Levi (fourth, 5,000; fifth, 3,000), sprint medley relay (fifth), and distance medley relay (fifth).

Lawrence at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational (February 19, 2000)
Led by the winning distance medley relay team, the Lawrence women placed fourth with 64 points. The team of Christie Balch, Shelley Ebert, Courtney Miller, and Sally Schonfeld won the event with a time of 12:9.01.

Miller placed second in the 1,000 in 3:04.67, and Schonfeld was fourth in the same event in 3:10.91. Balch took third in the 200 meters in 27.69 seconds, and Ebert was fifth in the 400 meters in 1:02.46. Cathy Kempen placed fourth in the 5,000 in 19:01.45. Sarah Slivinski grabbed second in the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet, 3/4 inches, and took fifth in the high jump at 4-91/2.

The Lawrence men took eighth with 20 points. Mark Smrecek took fifth in the shot put at 46-11/2, and Peter Levi was sixth in the 3,000 in 9:08.13.

Lawrence at Pointer Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (January 29, 2000)
The Lawrence women took fifth place with 48 points, and UW-Stevens Point won the title with 186.5.

Cathy Kempen led the Lawrence women by taking first in the 1,500 meters in 5:08.91. Christie Balch ran to third in the 200 meters in 27.83 seconds. Sally Schonfeld took third in the 800 meters in 2:24.19. The Lawrence women's distance medley relay team placed second.

The Lawrence men placed eighth with 18 points. UW-Oshkosh won the team title with 216 points. Jumuah Hardin took fourth place in the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, 4 inches, to pace the Lawrence men.

Lawrence at Pioneer Open at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (January 22, 2000)
Jumuah Harden paced the Vikings, who had numerous placings in the top five. Harden won the tirple jump with a lead of 12.66 meters and took third in the long jump with a leap of 6.05 meters. Eric Davis placed third in the 400 meters in 53.95 seconds.

Cathy Kempen ran to first in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:04.20. Sally Schonfeld grabbed the other first for the Vikings, winning the 1,500 meters in 5:05.80. Shelley Ebert placed second in the 600 meters in 1:39.21, and the women's 3,200 relay team was second in 10:58.38.

Lawrence at Badger Track Classic at the University of Wisconsin (January 15, 2000)
No team scores were kept, but the Vikings did have several outstanding performances.

On the women's side, Shelley Ebert placed fourth in the 600 meters in 1:40.96, and Sarah Slivinski took fifth in the high jump with a leap of 4-10 1/4.

Lawrence had four men place in the top 16 in the 3,000 meters. Peter Levi took eighth (9:22.4), Jim Moran was 12th (9:53.4), Eric Martin was 15th (10:47.2), and Cameron Kramlich took 16th (10:48.8). Mark Smrecek grabbed 13th in the shot put with a toss of 42- 3/4, and Jumuah Harden was 12th in the long jump with a leap of 20-10 3/4.
