Last Chance Meet at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. (May 20)
Lawrence's Shelley Ebert broke the school record in the 800 meters. Ebert's time of 2 minutes 17.45 seconds smashed the previous mark of 2:21.24 set by Julie Wick in 1983.

Midwest Conference Championships at Lawrence University (May 12-13)
The Lawrence women placed third with 87 points. Monmouth won the women's title with 196.5 points. The Lawrence men finished sixth with 64 points. Carroll won the men's title with 186 points.

The Viking women had several top-five finishers. Christie Balch grabbed second in the 400 meters. Shelley Ebert was second in the 800 meters and Sally Schonfeld placed fifth. Courtney Miller took second in the 3,000 meters and fifth in the 1,500 meters. Sarah Slivinski took third in the high jump, fifth in the javelin, and fifth in the triple jump. The 400 relay team placed third, and the 1,600 relay team was fourth. Anna Huber was fifth in the 100 meters. Cathy Kempen took fifth in the 10,000 meters. Betsy Moyer took fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.

Peter Levi led the Viking men by taking second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and fourth in the 5,000 meters. Jumuah Harden grabbed fourth in the high jump and fifth in the long jump. Anthony Nickel was fourth in the pole vault. Mark Smrecek took fifth in the shot put. Don Smith placed fifth in the 1,500 meters.

Lawrence University at Ripon College (May 6)
The Ripon men and women beat Lawrence in a dual meet. The Ripon men won 332-121, and the Ripon women won 244-182.

Winning events for the Lawrence men were: Dave Maloney (high jump), Mark Smrecek (shot put), Anthony Nickel (pole vault), Ken Leising (triple jump), and Ross Nelson (800 meters).

Winning events for the Lawrence women were: Kim Robinson (discus), Sarah Slivinski (javelin), Jen Totoritis (3,000 meters), Shelley Ebert (400 meters), Anna Huber (100 and 200 meters), Katy Roll (800 meters), Cathy Kempen (5,000 meters), and the Vikings 400 and 1,600 relay teams.

Wisconsin Private College Championships at Lawrence University (April 29)
The Lawrence women placed third with 101 points, and Carthage College won the title with 234 points. The Lawrence men placed fourth with 90 points. Carroll College won the title with 182 points.

Shelley Ebert ran to victory in the 800 meters for Lawrence's lone event win. Jen Totoritis was second in the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters. Courtney Miller was second in the 1,500 meters, and Christie Balch took second in the 400 meters. Anna Huber ran to third place in the 100 meters and 200 meters.

The Vikings swept the top three places in the 3,000 steeplechase. Peter Levi took first, Eric Martin was second, and Josh Cross took third. Levi also placed second in the 5,000 meters, and Jim Moran took second in the 10,000. Anthony Nickel grabbed Lawrence's other top-three finish by taking third in the pole vault.

Lawrence University at Ripon College Handcraft Invitational (April 15)
The Lawrence men and women both finished second. Winning events for the Lawrence men were: Jumuah Harden (long jump and triple jump), Mark Smrecek (shot put), and Anthony Nickel (pole vault).

Winning events for the Lawrence women were: Jen Totoritis (10,000 meters), Sally Schonfeld (1,500 meters), Betsy Moyer (100 hurdles), Anna Huber (100 meters), Shelley Ebert (800 meters), and Sarah Slivinski (400 hurdles).

Lawrence University Open (April 8)
The Vikings won the women's title with 180 points. Christie Balch (200 meters), Shelley Ebert (800), Betsy Moyer (100 hurdles), Kim Robinson (discus), and the women's 400 relay, 2-mile relay, and 1,600 relay all won for the Vikings.

The men's team finished third with 128.5 points. Don Smith (800), Eric Martin (3,000 steeplechase), Anthony Nickel (pole vault), Jumuah Harden (triple jump), and Mark Smrecek (shot put) all won events for Lawrence.

Lawrence at University of Wisconsin-Platteville Invite (April 1)
In the unscored meet, Anna Huber (100 meters), Christie Balch (400), Shelley Ebert (800), Courtney Miller (3,000), Jen Tortortis (5,000), the women's 1,600 relay team, and Jumuah Harden (triple jump) all won events for the Vikings.

Lawrence at Emory University Invite (March 25)
The Lawrence men finished 12th with 19.5 points. Jumuah Harden led Lawrence by taking third in the triple jump (13.25 meters) and fifth in the long jump (6.46 meters). Mark Smrecek was fifth in the shot put (14.45 meters), and Peter Levi was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:52.43).

The Lawrence women placed 20th with five points. Shelley Ebert took fourth in the 800 meters (2:21.94) to lead Lawrence.
