Midwest Conference Championships at Knox College (May 9-10)

The Lawrence women finished eighth in the team standings, and the men took ninth.
Madeline Steininger was the top finisher for Lawrence, as she took third in the high jump (5 feet, 3.25 inches), sixth in the long jump (16-8.75), and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (17.13). Other Lawrence women who placed were: Laurel Benson (seventh, pole vault, 8-1.25), Tatiana Bulat (fourth, triple jump, 34-6.75), Chelsea Fickbohm (sixth, javelin, 103-10; eighth, 400 hurdles, 1:13.21), Joy Manweiler (fifth, 10,000 meters, 42:42.53), and the 1,600 relay (eighth, 4:25.40).
Placing for the Lawrence men were: Rob Lawson (eighth, discus, 134-2), Mike Pierquet (eighth, hammer throw, 128-4), 400 relay (sixth, 45.38), and the 1,600 relay (sixth, 3:32.61).

Ripon College Invitational (May 3)

Russell Geisthardt won the 400 meters in 52.08 seconds and was one of three winners on the men's side. Mike Pierquet won the hammer throw with a toss of 137 feet, 4.75 inches, and he also took third in the shotput (42-0.25). Nick Maxam won the javelin with a throw of 139-10.
Other top-five finishers for the Lawrence men were: Mark Sprtel (second, 800 meters, 2:03.56), 400 relay (fourth, 45.17), 1,600 relay (third, 3:36.24), Greg Haas (fourth, 400 hurdles, 1:01.06), Derek Micke (fourth, 100 meters, 11.44; fourth, long jump, 19-0), Matthew Eddy (fifth, 3,000 meters, 10:16.87), Kevin Gabrielson (second, long jump, 19-3), Ben Glover (fifth, triple jump, 38-1.5), Mitch Guenther (fourth, high jump, 5-8.75), Lucas Below (third, pole vault, 12-6), and Rob Lawson (third, discus, 129-9).
Tatiana Bulat won the long jump with a leap of 33-11.5 to pace the Lawrence women. She also took third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:14.36 and finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.55 seconds. Tess Jaeger won the high jump at 4-5.
Other top-five finishers for the Lawrence women were: Joy Manweiler (fourth, 3,000 steeplechase, 13:10.35), Margaret Pieper (fourth, 400 meters, 1:17.56), and Chelsea Fickbohm (fourth, 400 hurdles, 1:15.24; third, javelin, 101-1).

Wisconsin Private College Championships at Ripon College (April 26)

Rob Lawson threw a personal-best 145 feet, 10 inches, to win the discus. Lawson's previous best throw was 127-1 in the 2007 season. Other top finishers for the Vikings were: Derek Micke (fourth, 100 meters, 11.68; fifth, long jump, 18-11.75), Greg Haas (fourth, 400 hurdles, 1:00.93), Mike Pierquet (fifth, hammer throw, 137-9), and the 1,600 relay team (fifth, 3:41.93).
The top finisher on the women's side was Tatina Bulat, who took third in the triple jump with a leap of 33-4.5. Tess Jaeger placed in the top five in two events, taking fourth in the high jump (4-7.5) and fifth in the 400 hurdles (1:18.57). Other top finishers were; Abby Fisher (fifth, 5,000, 21:17.30), Joy Manweiler (fifth, 10,000, 43:51.71), Chelsea Fickbohm (fifth, javelin, 92-3), and hte 1,600 relay team (fifth, 4:40.90).

UW-Oshkosh Invitational (April 5)

Madeline Steinger won one event and placed in two others to pace the Vikings. She won the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 1.25 inches, which tops her personal best outdoors by almost two feet. She also placed second in the high jump with a leap of 5-3.75. Steininger also grabbed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.13 seconds.
