Brendan Falls
Men's Basketball
Brendan Falls led Lawrence University to a 79-64 win at Ripon College last Saturday in the Vikings' only action of the week.
A sophomore forward from Park Ridge, Ill., Falls scored 20 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the floor, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. He scored five points in a key early run that helped the Vikings take control and nailed a 3-pointer in another late scoring run that helped seal the victory for Lawrence. On the season, the former standout at Loyola Academy is averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
The win moved Lawrence into sole possession of first place in the Midwest Conference and handed Ripon, which entered the game ranked 21st in the d3hoops.com poll, its first loss of the season.
Jodie Primus
Women's Swimming
Jodie Primus won one event and took second in another to help Lawrence University to a split at the Carthage College Triangular last Saturday. Lawrence defeated North Central College 157-103 and fell to Carthage 161-101.
A former standout at Madison LaFollette High School, Primus won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:32.36 and took second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.24.
Tom Carroll
Men's Swimming
Tom Carroll led Lawrence University to a split at the Carthage College Triangular last Saturday. Paced by Carroll's three wins, the Vikings beat North Central College 184-47and lost to Carthage 131-127. For his efforts, Carroll was named the Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season.
The former standout at York Community High School in Elmhurst, Ill., won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.62 and also captured the 500 freestyle in 4:53.41, and the 1,000 freestyle in 10:02.46.
