For the week ending February 8, 2003

Chris Braier
Men's Basketball

Chris Braier turned in three more double-doubles to lead Lawrence University to a 2-1 record in Midwest Conference play this past week.

Braier, a freshman forward from Wauwautosa, had 15 points and 17 rebounds in Lawrence's 78-72 win over Ripon College last Tuesday. He then had 10 points and 16 rebounds in Lawrence's 58-53 win at Lake Forest on Friday night. He came back Saturday to score 14 points and grab 10 rebounds in a 70-69 loss at Illinois College.

For the season, Braier is averaging a double-double with 14.3 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. Braier has nine double-doubles on the season, three more than anyone else in the league. He also had straight double-doubles and has hit that mark in seven of his last eight games.

Shelley Ebert
Indoor Track

Shelley Ebert won one event and was part of a winning relay team at last Saturday's University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational.

Ebert, a senior from Janesville, won the 400 meters 60.60 seconds, the fastest time in the conference this season. She was also part of Lawrence's winning distance medley relay team, which turned in a time of 13:17.85.

Led by Ebert's efforts, the Vikings finished fifth among the eight teams.
