Mara Sarabia won one event and took third in another to help Lawrence University to second place in the team standings at the Gene Davis Invitational this past weekend.

The sophomore from Carbondale, Ill., won the 1,650-yard freestyle in 19 minutes, 6.62 seconds. She also grabbed third in the 500 freestyle in 5:36.77.

Sarabia teamed with Tiffany Pannier, Jodie Primus, and Stephanie Novakov to place second in the 800 freestyle relay in 8:39.22.

Brendan Falls
Men's Basketball

Brendan Falls led Lawrence University to a pair of road victories during the past week, including an impressive win to open Midwest Conference play.

Falls, a sophomore from Park Ridge, Ill., scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds as part of Lawrence's balanced attack in a 69-57 win at Marian College last Wednesday. He came back on Saturday to score a game-high 21 points in Lawrence's 73-51 win at Beloit.

For the week, the former standout at Loyola Academy averaged 15 points per game while shooting 81.2 percent (13 of 16) from the floor and 60 percent (3 of 5) on 3-pointers. For the season, he is averaging a team-high 12 points per game.
