Women's Track and Field
Lawrence University track standout Courtney Miller won two events and placed third in another at the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships.
The senior from Reston, Va., won the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 18.94 seconds, and won the 1,500 in 4:47.70. She also took third in the 3,000 in 10:38.70.
Miller was named the Women's Outstanding Track Performer.
Chris MacGillis
Men's Basketball
Chris MacGillis led the Lawrence University men's basketball team to a pair of victories this past week in the NCAA Division III Championship.
The senior from Wauwatosa scored a game-high 18 points in Lawrence's 86-51 victory over Lakeland College in the first round of the tournament. MacGillis matched that effort with another game-high 18 points the Vikings' 72-66 second-round victory at Buena Vista University.
MacGillis, an All-Midwest Conference selection, stymied a Buena Vista run late in the second half with back-to-back 3-pointers that put Lawrence back in command.
