Men's Basketball

Dan Evans turned in three outstanding performances to lead Lawrence University to a 2-1 record on the week. The senior point guard from Cary, Ill., started with 14 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in an 81-69 win over Ripon College. He followed that with 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a 74-68 loss at Knox College. The former Cary Grove High School standout capped the week with 13 points, three rebounds, and two assists in an 81-72 overtime win at Illinois College. In the win over IC, Evans scored 10 of his points in the overtime to lead Lawrence to the victory. For the week, he averaged 13 points, five rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 50 percent (12-24) from the floor and 81.3 percent (13-16) from the foul line.

Carrie Van Groll
Women's Basketball

Carrie Van Groll led the Lawrence University women's basketball team to a 2-1 record during the past week and hit a season high in the process.Van Groll, a native of Kaukauna who played at Little Chute High School, scored a season-high 17 points in Lawrence's 59-54 win over Ripon College. Van Groll also had four rebounds, two assists, and two steals against the Red Hawks.
She then scored 10 points, tied her season high with six rebounds, and added two assists in Lawrence's 74-57 win at Knox College. Van Groll then scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists, and had a steal in a 69-66 loss at Illinois College. For the week, Van Groll averaged 13 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 60.7 percent (17-28) from the floor. For the season, she is averaging 6.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
