Jason Holinbeck helped Lawrence University clinch the Midwest Conference title and passed 1,000 points in the process. Holinbeck, a senior guard from Neenah, scored a game-high 19 points in Lawrence's 72-48 win at St. Norbert College last Saturday that secured the undisputed Midwest Conference title for the Vikings. During the game, Holinbeck became the 18th player in Lawrence history to score 1,000 points. Holinbeck had scored eight points in Lawrence's 81-69 win over Beloit College last Wednesday that secured at least a share of the title for the Vikings.
Nick Heuer
Men's Swimming
Nick Heuer won a pair of titles at last weekend's Midwest Conference Championships at Grinnell College and broke a pair of records. A senior from Davenport, Iowa, Heuer won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:09.47. He broke the meet record of 2:09.78 and topped the conference record of 2:09.55, both of which were set by Lake Forest College's Ryan Hayden in 1997. Heuer also won the 100 breaststroke in 59.60 seconds. Paced by his efforts, the Lawrence men took second place in the team standings.
