Cross Country

Cate Frazier led the Lawrence University women's cross country team at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota this past Saturday. The freshman from Green Bay took 39th overall in a field of 353 runners. She turned in a time of 24 minutes, 51 seconds, on the 5-kilometer course. With four Midwest Conference schools taking part, only one runner from the league finished ahead of Frazier. Paced by her effort, Lawrence finished 16th among the 24 teams.

Matt Wolin
Men's Soccer

Lawrence University men's soccer standout Matt Wolin earned his first collegiate shutout this past week. Wolin, a junior goalkeeper from Highland Park, Ill., recorded the shutout in a 2-0 win over Edgewood College. Wolin, who was selected as the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week, made three saves against Edgewood to earn his second victory of the season. For the week, the former player at Highland Park High School posted a 1.31 goals against average, an .826 save percentage, and made 19 saves in three games.
