Women's Soccer

Sara Compas scored one of the fastest goals in NCAA Division III history on Saturday. The senior midfielder from Apple Valley, Minn., scored just 11 seconds into Lawrence's 4-2 victory over Monmouth. She sprinted down the left sideline and punched home a shot off a pass from Annemarie Exharos to put Lawrence up 1-0. The Division III record is six seconds two other players are at 10 seconds. Compas also added an assist on Lawrence's next goal. Compas picked up a goal and an assist the following day in Lawrence's 5-1 victory over Illinois College.

Ryan Pikna
Men's Soccer

Ryan Pikna scored three goals this past weekend, as the Lawrence University men's soccer team swept a pair of Midwest Conference matches. A freshman midfielder from Wauwatosa, Pikna scored in the 22nd minute and again in the 87th minute in Lawrence's 6-2 win over Monmouth College on Saturday. His first goal of the day proved to be the game-winner. He came up with a clutch goal on Sunday in Lawrence's 1-0 win over Illinois College. Pikna had the lone tally of the contest in the 83rd minute to lift the Vikings to a victory critical to their Midwest Conference Tournament hopes. With the two wins, Lawrence moves into a tie for fourth place in the league with Beloit College.
