Adrell Bullock ran 19 times for a career-high 173 yards in Lawrence University's 35-7 nonconference win over Macalester College this past Saturday at the Banta Bowl. The sophomore halfback from Chicago scored a pair of touchdowns, including a spectacular 59-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. Bullock, who was named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week, averaged an amazing 9.1 yards per carry.
Daniel Ljung
Hockey
Daniel Ljung turned in his best performance of the season and helped Lawrence University to a weekend sweep at the University of Minnesota-Crookston. The junior goaltender from Avesta, Sweden, stopped 40 of 41 shots in Lawrence's 3-1 victory on Saturday, which followed a 6-2 triumph on Friday. Ljung was chosen as the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week.
Joe Vander Zanden
Football
Joe Vander Zanden led the Lawrence University defense in its suffocating attack against Macalester College this past Saturday. The freshman linebacker from Kimberly recorded a game-high 12 tackles, including three tackles for loss and a sack. He also intercepted a pass and forced a fumble in Lawrence's 35-7 victory. Spearheaded by Vander Zanden, who was named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Lawrence limited Macalester to 58 yards rushing on 32 carries.
