Kolade Agbaje-Williams
Track and Field

Lawrence University track and field standout Kolade Agbaje-Williams won one event and placed in two others at the Wisconsin Private College Championships this past Saturday. Agbaje-Williams, a senior from Evergreen Park, Ill., was selected as the Midwest Conference Field Performer of the Week. A two-time All-American in the long jump, Agbaje-Williams won the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 4.25 inches. He also placed second in the long jump at 21-6 and took seventh in the 55 meters with a time of 6.77 seconds. Led by Agbaje-Williams, the Vikings placed sixth in the team standings in the 10-team meet.

John Budi
Wrestling

John Budi won the championship at 174 pounds this past Saturday at the Private College Championships. Budi, a Kimberly native, went 3-0 on the day to take the title. The former Kimberly High School star pinned James Sylvanus of Lakeland in 3:15 in the quarterfinals and then beat Aaron Barnett of Knox 13-0 in the semifinals. He defated Lakeland's Tim Vallier 5-0 for the championship. Budi, now 21-4 on the season, also defeated UW-Eau Claire's Lance Valiquette 9-5 in a dual match on Sunday.

Carrie Van Groll
Women's Basketball

Carrie Van Groll helped Lawrence to a pair of big wins this past week. In Lawrence's 76-56 victory over Carroll, which was unbeaten in Midwest Conference play, Van Groll scored 16 points and hit 7 of 10 shots from the floor. The former Little Chute High School standout added three rebounds and three steals. Van Groll then scored a team-high 13 points in Lawrence's 48-47 win at St. Norbert. She hit 3 of 8 shots from the floor and was 8 of 10 from the foul line. She also chipped in with three rebounds and four steals. Her free throw with 1:19 left proved to be the difference in the game.
