Tammi Weiss posted a perfect 3-0 record on the mound during Lawrence University's week at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. A junior from Wautoma, she pitched 28 innings, compiled a 2.25 earned run average, gave up only nine earned runs, struck out eight, and walked six. She helped Lawrence to its first win of the season when she pitched all eight innings in a 3-2 victory over St. Lawrence University. She allowed only five hits, walking one and striking out one. She went five innings in a 12-5 victory over Elms College and capped her week by going the distance in a 9-3 victory over Lasell College. The former standout at Wautoma High School struck out four and didn't walk a batter in that contest.

Andrew Wong
Baseball

Andrew Wong had a huge week for Lawrence University during the team's 12 games at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. The senior shortstop from Wauwatosa batted .378 (14-for-37) and drove in 21 runs during the week. A former star at Wauwatosa East High School, he had four homers, two doubles, and a pair of triples. Wong set a school record when he drove in nine runs during Lawrence's 18-8 win over Kalamazoo College. In the contest, Wong went 3-for-4, belting a grand slam, three-run homer, run-scoring triple, and sacrifice fly. Wong was chosen as the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
