Brad Hauser
Baseball
Brad Hauser batted a sizzling .516 in eight games this past week. He was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week. The junior center fielder went 16-for-31 with four doubles, two homers, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He also handled all 23 chances in the outfield flawlessly. Hauser compiled an .839 slugging percentage and .600 on-base percentage. He also swiped a pair of bases. Hauser, an Appleton native, highlighted his week by going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs in a win over Beloit and by going 4-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBIs in a loss to UW-Oshkosh. Hauser drove in at least two runs in four of the eight games the Vikings played this week.
Stephanie Kramer
Track and Field
Stephanie Kramer broke a school record during the University of Wisconsin Twilight last Saturday. Kramer, a sophomore from Appleton, had a toss of 115 feet, 5 inches, in the hammer throw to shatter the school record. The previous mark of 99-5.5 was set by Kim Robinson in 2000. Competing against a field filled with many Division I and Division II schools, Kramer finished 20th in the hammer throw and was 26th in the discus.
Matt Orth
Golf
Matt Orth saved one of the finest performances of his career for last. The senior from St. Cloud, Minn., finished seventh at the Midwest Conference Championship this past weekend and earned all-conference honors in the process. Orth carded rounds of 81, 78 and 78 for a 54-hole total of 240. It was his highest finish ever at the conference championship and helped Lawrence to a third-place finish in the team standings. Joe Loehnis, who finished second, and Andy Link, who took 10th place, also garned all-conference honors for Lawrence.
