Marc Howe, a freshman forward from Cedarburg, Wis., picked up the first Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association award of his career following Lawrence's weekend sweep at Northland College. Howe, who was named the league's Freshman of the Week, got his first career hat trick in Lawrence's 12-2 victory on Jan. 20. Howe scored late in the first period and early in the second on even-strength goals and then got the hat trick on a power-play goal 7:32 into the third period. Howe also had an assist in the 4-0 win over the Lumberjacks on Jan. 19. Howe is now second on the team with eight goals and 14 points.
Joe Searl

Joe Searl, a senior forward from Fond du Lac, Wis., was named the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week after helping the Vikings to a weekend sweep at Northland College. Searl won his third Player of the Week award of the season after scoring four goals and picking up an assist in the two games. In the 4-0 win on Jan. 19, Searl scored a pair of goals, one on the power play and the other that proved to be the game-winner. He added two more goals and an assist in the 12-2 win on Jan. 20 over the Lumberjacks. On the season, Searl now has a team-high 13 goals to go along with eight assists and a team-high 21 points. Eight of his goals have come on the man-advantage.
