Football
Tyler Krzewina turned in a standout performance in his final college game. The senior linebacker from Kaukauna, Wis., turned in a career-high 18 tackles in a 31-14 loss to Ripon College in the season finale. Krzewina had seven unassisted tackles and 11 assisted in the game. The 18 tackles was tops on the team this season and fell just one short of tying for the most tackles by a Midwest Conference player this season. The 18 tackles also tops Krzewina's previous high of 17, which he achieved against Grinnell College in the 2004 season.
Hayley Vatch
Women's Swimming
Hayley Vatch has helped the Lawrence University women's swim team to an undefeated start to the season and was chosen as the Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Week. The sophomore from Elmhurst, Ill., won two events at the Lake Forest College double dual and was part of two winning relays teams at the St. Norbert College Sprint Meet. Lawrence beat both Lake Forest and Monmouth College at the double dual and took the title at the St. Norbert meet. Vatch won the 800-meter freestyle in 10:12.30 and won the 400-meter freestyle in 5:01.04 at Lake Forest, as the Vikings beat the Foresters 138-85 and downed the Scots 146-64. At the St. Norbert meet, she was part of the winning 500-yard freestyle crescendo relay in 5:05.04. She also swam on the winning 500-yard freestyle relay team that recorded a time of 4:34.01. Lawrence scored 471 points to win the title over second-place UW-Whitewater, which had 439.5.
