John Budi
Wrestling

John Budi put together a 5-2 record over this stretch and was unbeaten in three dual matches. Wrestling at 174 pounds, Budi won by technical fall over UW-Eau Claire's Joey Miller and then beat MSOE's Tim O'Connor 7-5 in overtime, as the Vikings split a pair of dual matches. The senior from Kimberly, Wis., went 2-2 in his weight class at the Sunshine Open in Lakeland, Fla., just after Christmas and finished with a 12-2 win over C.J. Hauser in Lawrence's dual match victory over Central Florida. Budi is now 7-3 on the season.

Andy Hurley
Men's Basketball

Andy Hurley averaged close to a double-double over the past four games, in which the Vikings posted a 2-2 record. Hurley averaged 10.8 points and 9.3 rebounds in the four games. In a double-overtime loss to Carthage, Hurley scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Two days later at UW-Oshkosh, Hurley had nine points and seven rebounds in a loss to the Titans. He scored seven points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a win over Allegheny at the Land of Magic Classic in Florida just after Christmas. He finished with 10 points and four rebounds in a victory over Ursinus in Florida. During that four-game stretch, the junior from Kimberly, Wis., shot 50 percent from the floor and recorded eight assists, three blocks, and three steals.

Jack Peters
Wrestling

Jack Peters hit his stride at the Sunshine Open in Lakeland, Fla., as he took fourth place at 197 pounds. Peters went 4-2 in the tournament, losing the third-place match to Central Florida's Jimmy Myers. Peters avenged that loss, as he clinched Lawrence's 25-12 dual match victory over the Golden Knights on Dec. 31 by pinning Myers in 1:05. The junior from Shiocton, Wis., is now 8-6 on the season with a team-high four pins.
