Women's Swimming

Rebecca Hamlyn won three events and led the Vikings to the team title at the Lawrence Invitational on Jan. 26. The freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio, took first in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:24.73, was first in the 100 butterfly in 1:03.19, and took first in the 100 backstroke in 1:06.86. Lawrence took the team title with 523.5, more than doubling the second-place finish by Ripon (257.5).

Matt Jacobs
Hockey

Matt Jacobs was named the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Freshman of the Week after picking up four points in a weekend series with Marian. Jacobs, a forward from East Northport, N.Y., scored Lawrence's first goal and was plus-2 on the evening in a 4-3 loss to the Sabres on Jan. 25. Jacobs then assisted on Lawrence's first three goals in a 4-4 overtime tie with the Sabres on Jan. 26.

Ryan Kroeger
Men's Basketball

Ryan Kroeger averaged 21.3 points while shooting 62.5 percent from the floor, as Lawrence knocked off a nationally-ranked nonconference opponent and then won a pair of Midwest Conference road games. The junior guard from Glendale, Wis., scored 28 points, as he hit 9 of 11 shots from the floor and 8 of 9 from the foul line, in Lawrence's 81-78 win over No. 20 UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 22. He followed that with 18 points in Lawrence's 84-77 win at Illinois College on Jan. 25. Kroeger finished his week with 18 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the floor and foul line, in Lawrence's 109-106 win at Grinnell on Jan. 26. On the season, Kroeger is averaging 17.3 points and shooting 56.7 percent from the floor, including 53.3 percent on 3-pointers.

Men's Basketball

Chris Page broke Lawrence's single-game scoring record in the Vikings' 109-106 win at Grinnell on Jan. 26, as the Vikings capped a week in which they beat a nationally-ranked nonconference opponent and won a pair of Midwest Conference road games. The junior forward from Amherst, Wis., scored 48 points, breaking the mark of 47, set by Jason Holinbeck at Grinnell on Jan. 21, 2005. Page, who was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week, hit 20 of 24 shots from the floor and was 8 of 12 from the foul line. He also pulled down nine rebounds and had a pair of steals. Earlier in the week, Page had three points and four rebounds in Lawrence's 81-78 win over No. 20 UW-Oshkosh and seven points and 11 rebounds in the Vikings' 84-77 victory at Illinois College.
