Men's Tennis
Ryan Dunn earned Midwest Conference Player of the Week honors after Lawrence's victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering on March 15. A sophomore from Fond du Lac, Wis., Dunn beat MSOE's Mark Schadler 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Dan Hertel for an 8-0 win over Taylor Pfenning and Mitch Paulus at No. 1 doubles. The Vikings beat the Raiders 6-3 and Dunn ran his win streak at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to six matches. During the previous week, Dunn won all six matches he played, picking up singles and doubles victories against UW-Oshkosh, Concordia (Wis.) and Marian.
Madeline Steininger
Women's Track and Field
Madeline Steininger became the first Lawrence female athlete to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in 14 years. A sophomore from New Berlin, Wis., Steininger took fifth place in the high jump on March 14 with a jump of 5 feet, 3.25 inches. Steininger becomes the first Lawrence track athlete to be an All-American since Kolade Agbaje-Williams did it twice in the long jump in 2003, placing sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships and eighth at the outdoor championships. She is Lawrence's first female All-American since Diana Ling won the long jump at the 1994 NCAA Indoor Championships.
