Softball
Megan Butterbrodt smacked a pair of homers in Lawrence's doubleheader split with Carroll on April 5. The senior outfielder from Clintonville, Wis., went 3-for-5 (.600 batting average) in the doubleheader and all three hits went for extra bases. Butterbrodt drove in six of Lawrence's 10 runs on the afternoon. She reached base in six of her eight plate appearances, as she also drew a pair of walks and was hit by a pitch, and scored three runs. Butterbrodt hit a three-run homer in the first inning of the first game, and Lawrence rode that to a 4-2 victory. She added a run-scoring double in the seventh and drove in all four of Lawrence's runs in the first game. With Lawrence down 6-1 in the second game, she hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning to start a Lawrence comeback. The Vikings ended up scoring the next five runs to tie the game at 6-6 before falling 8-6. Butterbrodt finished the doubleheader with a 2.000 slugging percentage and a .750 on-base percentage. On the season, Butterbrodt is batting .344 with four homers and 14 RBIs.
Madeline Steininger
Track and Field
Madeline Steininger won one event and placed in two others at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on April 5. The sophomore from New Berlin, Wis., won the long jump with a personal-best jump of 17 feet, 1.25 inches. That jump is nearly two feet better than her previous best outdoors. She also placed second in the high jump with a leap of 5-3.75. Steininger also grabbed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.13 seconds.
