Women's Soccer

Lindsey Ahlen got her first shutout of the season and was named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The sophomore goalkeeper from Lawrence, Kan., had to make only one save in Lawrence's 6-0 win at Illinois College on Oct. 6. She then made 15 saves, as the underdog Vikings played to a 1-1 tie at Monmouth on Oct. 7. Ahlen had to make three saves in the 20 minutes of overtime. On the season, she lowered her goals against average to 2.00 and raised her save percentage to .776.

Cat Marinac
Cross Country

Cat Marinac, in her first season running cross country, turned in the best finish by a Lawrence runner in 2007 when she placed 10th at the Beloit College Olde English Classic on Oct. 6. The senior from St. Paul, Minn., who also stars in softball for the Vikings, had a time of 22 minutes, 7.5 seconds, on the 5,000-meter course on a hot, humid day in Beloit. Led by her finish, Lawrence took third in team standings.

Steve Schnorr
Men's Soccer

Steve Schnorr didn't allow a goal in 135 minutes in net during a pair of Midwest Conference road matches and was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week. The sophomore goalkeeper from Northfield, Minn., made three saves in Lawrence's 1-0 win at Illinois College on Oct. 6 and then made four saves in the first half of Lawrence's 3-0 win at Monmouth on Oct. 7. Schnorr, who didn't play the second half against Monmouth, got credit for his first shutout of the season and lowered his goals against average to 1.64 and raised his save percentage to .778.
