John Dekker
Men's Basketball

John Dekker led a balanced Lawrence attack (four players averaged in double figures), as the Vikings won a pair of Midwest Conference games on the road. The sophomore forward from Sheboygan, Wis., averaged 18.5 points and shot 55.0 percent from the floor, including 64.3 percent on 3-pointers. Dekker hit 11 of 20 shots from the field, including 9 of 14 from 3-point range. He also picked up eight rebounds, four steals and had a pair of blocks. Dekker had a career-high 21 points in Lawrence's 77-49 win at Lake Forest on Nov. 30. He hit 6 of 11 shots from the floor, including 5 of 7 on 3-pointers. Dekker had 16 points in Lawrence's 90-75 win at Monmouth on Dec. 1. He connected on 5 of 9 shots from the field, including 4 of 7 on 3-pointers. Dekker scored 37 points in only 42 minutes of action in the two games. On the season, Dekker is averaging a team-high 15.0 points per game while shooting 57.6 percent (19-33) from the floor, including 68.2 percent (15-22) on 3-pointers.

Rebecca Hamlyn
Women's Swimming

Rebecca Hamlyn won one event and placed in two others at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Dec. 1. The freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio, won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:23.59, which is the third-fastest time in the conference this season. She also took second in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.61 and placed seventh in the 200 freestyle in 2:07.20. She led Lawrence to a fourth-place finish in the team standings despite the fact the Vikings didn't compete in the afternoon session of the meet due to the blizzard in the area.
