Women's Tennis

Emma Kent put together a perfect week in singles and went 3-1 in doubles to lead Lawrence to a 3-1 record on the week. The senior from Bellingham, Wash., went 3-0 at No. 6 singles, notching wins at Concordia (Wis.), at Carroll on Sept. 19 and vs. Marian. Against Concordia on Sept. 16, she won 6-1, 6-0, and Kent posted a 6-0, 6-0 win vs. Marian on Sept. 21. Teamed with partner Emily Dalton at No. 3 doubles, Kent picked up wins at Concordia, at Carroll and vs. Marian. The only blemish on her record for the week was a doubles loss to UW-Eau Claire on Sept. 20.

NIck Maxam
Football

Nick Maxam got off to a hot start throwing the football and finished with a record-setting performance in the Vikings' loss to St. Norbert on Sept. 20. The junior from Appleton, Wis., completed his first 16 pass attempts en route to completing 28 of 37 passes for 341 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Maxam's 75.7 completion percentage broke the school game record of 75.0 percent held by Lawrence Hall of Famer Bill McNamara. The 28 completions and 341 passing yards were both career highs for Maxam.
