Women's Tennis

Lawrence standout Beth Larson put together impressive wins in a drubbing of Ripon and was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. The native of Maplewood, Minn., beat Josie Ullsperger 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Lisa Ritland to beat Ullsperger and Chelsey Foster 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Larson is now 15-1 in singles and 12-4 in doubles. Lawrence's 9-0 shutout of Ripon, the Vikings' fifth consecutive victory over their arch rival, gave Lawrence the North Division title with a 4-0 record.

Melissa Schnettler
Volleyball

Lawrence standout Melissa Schnettler led the Vikings to an upset of UW-Stevens Point at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational and was named to the all-tournament team. The junior from Neenah, Wis., was also named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week. Schnettler had 18 kills to lead the Vikings past UW-Stevens Point 25-22, 18-25, 16-25, 25-10, 15-7, for Lawrence's second win of the season. For the week, Schnettler had 60 kills in five matches and a .158 hitting percentage. She added 35 digs, three blocks, three assists, and two aces.
