Peter Brengel
Men's Swimming
Peter Brengel won three events and placed second in another and swam on three winning relays teams at the two-day UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Dec. 5-6. The freshman from Milwaukee, Wis., won the 100-yard freestyle in 50.50 seconds, was first in the 200 freestyle in 1:54.40, and won the 100 backstroke in 55.21. He also placed second in the 200 backstroke. Brengel also was part of the winning 800 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay teams. Brengel helped the Vikings to a second-place finish in the team standings, just nine points behind the top team from UW-Oshkosh.

Taylor Brengel won three events and placed second in another and swam on three winning relays teams at the two-day UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Dec. 5-6. The senior from Milwaukee, Wis., won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.69 seconds, was first in the 100 butterfly in 57.29, and won the 200 backstroke in 2:06.52. He also took second in the 100 backstroke in 58.91. Brengel also swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay teams. Brengel helped the Vikings to a second-place finish in the team standings, just nine points behind the top team from UW-Oshkosh.
Ben DiMarco
Hockey
Ben DiMarco helped Lawrence to a weekend sweep at Northland and was named the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Freshman of the Week. The forward from Galveston, Texas, scored four goals in the two games at Northland. DiMarco, who also was named the Freshman of the Week on Nov. 18, scored two goals in a 14-second span in Lawrence's 5-0 win over the Lumberjacks on Dec. 5. He then added two more goals in Lawrence's 7-1 victory on Dec. 6. DiMarco had the game-winning goal in both contests.
Doug Kadison
Men's Basketball
Doug Kadison had a great all-around game in Lawrence's 75-59 upset of No. 7 UW-Stevens Point and helped the Vikings to a 3-0 record on the week. The senior guard from Evanston, Ill., scored 13 points, handed out five assists, grabbed four rebounds, and had a block in the win over the Pointers. He hit 4 of 6 shots from the floor, including 3 of 3 from 3-point range. Kadison, who scored four points and five assists in an 81-70 win over Knox on Dec. 5, finished his week with 13 points and four assists in an 84-64 win over Illinois College on Dec. 6.
Ryan Kroeger
Men's Basketball
Ryan Kroeger led Lawrence to a 3-0 record on the week, which inlcuded an upset of No. 7 UW-Stevens Point. A senior guard from Glendale, Wis., Kroeger averaged 22.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while shooting 60.5 percent from the floor. Kroeger, who was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week, scored 16 points and handed out six assists in Lawrence's 75-59 win over UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 2. Kroeger then scored 32 points, one shy of his career high, in an 81-70 win over Knox on Dec. 5. He was a perfect 13 of 13 from the foul line in that game. Kroeger finished the week by scoring 19 in an 84-64 win over Illinois College on Dec. 6.
Hayley Vatch
Women's Swimming
Hayley Vatch won three events and placed second in another at the two-day UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Dec. 5-6. The senior from Elmhurst, Ill., won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.10, took first in the 500 freestyle in 5:23.01 and won the 1,650 freestyle in 18:20.58. She also took second in the 400 individual medley in 5:09.16. Vatch's time in the 1,650 freestyle in the fastest in the Midwest Conference this season. Her time in the 200 free is second-best, and her 400 IM time ranks third. Led by Vatch, Lawrence finished second in the team standings.
