John Dekker
Men's Basketball

John Dekker became the 20th player in Lawrence history to pass the 1,000-point plateau after he scored 26 points in Lawrence's 84-75 win over Carroll on Jan. 30. The senior from Sheboygan, Wis., now has 1,003 career points. He went 7-for-10 from the floor against Carroll, including 5-for-7 from 3-point range. He also went 7-for-8 from the foul line. Earlier in the week, Dekker scored 19 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out three assists in an 87-75 loss at Ripon on Jan. 27. For the week, Dekker averaged 22.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

Kelsey Gray
Women's Swimming

Kelsey Gray won one individual title and swam on a winning relay team at the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Carthage on Jan. 30. The junior from West Lafayette, Ind., won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:29.07 and was part of Lawrence's winning 800 freestyle relay team, which swam to victory in 8:47.73. She also grabbed second in the 1,650 freestyle in 19:35.78 and was part of the 200 medley relay team that finished fourth in 2:03.46. Led by Gray, the Vikings finished third in the team standings.

Madeline Steininger
Track and Field

Madeline Steininger won the high jump at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational on Jan. 30 and broke her own school record in the process. The senior from New Berlin, Wis., jumped 5 feet, 5.25 inches, which is the best jump in the conference this season to break the record of 5-5 she set in 2008. Steininger also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 16-3.75.
