Gustav Ahlberg picked up five points as Lawrence swept a Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal playoff series from Northland on Feb. 26-27. The freshman forward from Stockholm, Sweden, had two goals and three assists in the two games. In Lawrence's 5-1 win over the Lumberjacks on Feb. 26, Ahlberg had a pair of assists, including one on Jameson Raymond's game-winning goal. In the 5-3 victory on Feb. 27, Ahlberg scored midway through the second period to give Lawrence the lead for good at 2-1 and assisted on Billy Siers' goal late in the period. After Northland had trimmed Lawrence's lead to 4-2, Ahlberg scored again late in the third period to seal the victory.
Marc Howe

Marc Howe broke the Lawrence season goals record and helped the Vikings sweep a Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal playoff series from Northland on Feb. 26-27. The senior forward from Cedarburg, Wis., scored his 19th goal of the season in Lawrence's 5-3 win on Feb. 27. It broke the mark of 18 he shared with Nick Jennette, Joe Searl and Danny Schroder. Howe also picked up a pair of assists in Lawrence's 5-1 victory over the Lumberjacks on Feb. 26.
Sam Stevens
Track and Field
Sam Stevens won one event and placed fourth in another to lead Lawrence at the Midwest Conference Championships at Knox on Feb. 26-27. Stevens ran to the title in the mile in 4:24.84. It was the first conference title for a Lawrence male athlete at the conference's indoor championships since Kolade Agbaje-Williams won the triple jump in 2006. Stevens also ran to fourth place in the 800 meters in 1:58.96.
