Carli Gurholt
Softball
Carli Gurholt flexed her muscle during Lawrence's spring break trip to Clermont, Fla. The junior shortstop from Scandinavia, Wis., hit .393 for the nine games and eight of her 11 hits went for extra bases. Gurholt pounded out three homers, three doubles and two triples to compile a .964 slugging percentage. Gurholt drove in 15 runs and put together a .429 on-base percentage.
Cathy Kaye
Softball
Cathy Kaye compiled a team-best .515 batting average over nine games during Lawrence's spring break trip to Clermont, Fla. Batting in the lead-off spot, the freshman outfielder from Sturgeon Bay, Wis., went 17-for-33 with five doubles, a triple, two homers and seven runs batted in. Kaye scored a team-high 12 runs and put together a .909 slugging percentage.
Shannon Murray
Softball
Shannon Murray got her college career off to a great start on the mound and at the plate. The freshman pitcher from Lawrenceville, Ga., compiled a 4-1 record with a 2.68 earned run average. In 31.1 innings, he struck out 18 and walked only seven. Murray also tossed her first career shutout, allowing only four hits in a 10-0 win over Southern Maine. At the plate, Murray hit .467 with four doubles and seven runs batted in.
