Alex Goodson
Softball

Alex Goodson hit .706 in the five games of the Midwest Conference Classic on April 10-11 and was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week. The senior first baseman from Plainfield, Ill., went 12-for-17 with seven of those hits going for extra bases. She hit five homers, smacked a pair of doubles and drove in 13 runs. She compiled a 1.706 slugging percentage and a .737 on-base percentage for a staggering 2.443 OPS. In a 9-6 win over Illinois College, Goodson went 4-for-4 with a double, two homers and three RBIs. In a 4-2 loss to Lake Forest, she was 2-for-3 and drove in a run. She finished the first day of the MWC Classic by going 3-for-4 with two homers and drove in all five of her team’s runs in 9-5 loss to Monmouth. Goodson then went 2-for-3 with a double, a homer and three RBIs in a 9-0 win over Grinnell. She finished the MWC Classic by going 1-for-3 with a RBI in a 13-3 win over Knox.

Luke Kostreva
Baseball

Luke Kostreva had a big four-game series against Carroll on April 10-11, putting up some impressive power numbers in the process. The senior first baseman from Oconto Falls, Wis., hit .647 by going 11-for-17 with three home runs, three doubles and 10 runs batted in. He compiled a 1.353 slugging percentage and .714 on-base percentage. In the opening game of the series, Kostreva went 3-for-5 with a double, a three-run homer and four RBIs. He followed that up in the nightcap of that doubleheader by going 4-for-5 with a double, a two-run homer and two RBIs. In the opening game of the doubleheader the following day, Kostreva went 1-for-3 in Lawrence’s 10-6 victory. He capped the four-game series by going 3-for-4 with a two-run double, a two-run homer and four RBIs. Kostreva’s two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning rallied the Vikings to a 7-6 victory.

Katie Simonson
Softball

Katie Simonson had a big weekend at the Midwest Conference Classic on April 10-11. The sophomore outfielder from Waterford, Wis., hit .647 in the five games. She went 11-for-17 with a double, a homer and four runs batted in. Simonson went 3-for-3 with a homer in Lawrence's 9-6 win over Illinois College. She also went 2-for-4 against Monmouth the same day. On the final day of the Classic, she went 3-for-3 against in a 9-0 victory over Grinell and drove in a pair of runs. She finished the Classic by going 3-for-3 with a double in a 13-3 win over Knox.

Madeline Steininger
Track and Field

Madeline Steininger won a pair of events at the Carroll Invitational on April 10. The senior from New Berlin, Wis., won the high jump and the long jump. She took first in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 3 inches, and took the long jump with a leap of 16-1.5. Steininger also placed 15th in the 200 meters in 29.14 seconds.
