Nick Kerkman broke the Lawrence record in the hammer throw at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on May 1. The sophomore from Mequon, Wis., threw the hammer 145 feet, 1 inch, to break the record of 142-5 set by Mike Pierquet in 2006. Kerkman also had a season-best throw in the discus with a toss of 125-11. He also recorded his second-best throw of the season in shot put at 40-7.
Tom Vyskocil
Golf
Tom Vyskocil earned a place on the All-Midwest Conference team by taking 10th place at the Midwest Conference Championships at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Ill., on April 29-May 1. The senior from Brookfield, Ill., carded rounds of 83, 80 and 77 for a 54-hole score of 240 on the par-72 layout. Vyskocil made the all-conference team for the first time in his career and was Lawrence's top finisher.
