Mallory Koula
Women's Soccer

Mallory Koula scored five goals and handed out a pair of assists as Lawrence posted a 3-0 record on the week, including a road sweep of a pair of Midwest Conference games, and she was named the MWC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. The sophomore forward from Kimberly, Wis., played only 20 minutes on Oct. 14 and scored two goals and handed out an assist in Lawrence's 12-1 win over Mount Mary. Koula then scored the game-winning goal in the 66th minute of Lawrence's 3-1 victory at Illinois College on Oct. 17. Koula assisted on Jordan Holmes' game-winning goal in the 55th minute and then added two insurance goals in a three-minute span in a 4-1 win at Monmouth on Oct. 18.

Nate Nelson
Football

Nate Nelson returned a kickoff 73 yards for a touchdown to give Lawrence the lead for good in a 17-13 victory over Knox on Oct. 17 at the Banta Bowl. Knox had just scored to take a 13-9 lead when Nelson, a freshman wide receiver from Waupaca, Wis., caught the kickoff at his own 27-yard line, went up the middle, cut left and went untouched for the touchdown. He also caught the two-point conversion pass to give Lawrence a 17-13 lead. It was Lawrence's first kickoff return for a touchdown since Derek Micke went 85 yards against Beloit in 2007. Nelson finished with three kickoff returns for 104 yards, an average of 34.7 yards per return. Nelson also caught four passes for 67 yards.

Greg Pater
Football

Greg Pater turned in his third consecutive outstanding game as the Lawrence defense shut down Knox in a 17-13 victory over the Prairie Fire on Oct. 17. The junior linebacker from Berwyn, Ill., finished with a game-high 10 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss. Led by Pater, the Lawrence defense limited Knox to 2.0 yards per carry (44 carries, 89 yards) and 196 total yards. It marked the second consecutive week Lawrence had limited the opposition to less than 200 total yards. Since stepping into a starting role three weeks ago, Pater has piled up 31 tackles, including 5.0 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks and two pass breakups.

Liz Seeley

Liz Seeley piled up three goals and three assists as Lawrence posted a 3-0 record on the week, including a road sweep of a pair of Midwest Conference games. The junior forward from Madison, Wis., scored a goal and picked up three assists in Lawrence's 12-1 win over Mount Mary on Oct. 14. She then got the offense started in both of Lawrence's conference victories. Seeley scored the game's first goal in the 18th minute of Lawrence's 3-1 victory at Illinois College on Oct. 17. Seeley took a pass from Ellie Galvin and scored the game's first goal in the 17th minute in Lawrence's 4-1 victory at Monmouth on Oct. 18.
