Men's Basketball

Erik Borresen averaged close to a double-double during four games in December and was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week. The senior center from West Bend, Wis., averaged 16.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting 60.9 percent from the floor. Borresen scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Lawrence's 73-62 victory at Wisconsin Lutheran on Dec. 6. He then scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the Vikings' 74-69 win at Knox on Dec. 15. Borresen scored a career-high 30 points and had five rebounds in an 89-80 loss to No. 14 St. Mary's (Md.) on Dec. 18. He followed that with 12 points and nine rebounds in a 61-59 loss to Manchester on Dec. 19. Borresen also averaged 2.8 blocks, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals during that stretch.

Hannah Gabriel
Women's Swimming

Hannah Gabriel won two individual events and swam on two winning relay teams in a dual meet at UW-Oshkosh on Dec. 10. The freshman from Elmhurst, Ill., took first in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.12 and grabbed the top spot in the 500 freestyle in 5:29.51. Gabriel also was part of the winning 200 medley relay team (2:02.99) and the winning 200 freestyle relay team (1:48.37).
