Curran Carlile
Track and Field

Curran Carlile won his first collegiate track event in only his second meet when he grabbed first in the 5,000 meters at the Rocky Rococo Inviational at UW-Whitewater on Jan. 22. The freshman from Portland, Ore., won the event in 15:40.45, 16 seconds ahead of Matt Krueger of the Greater Milwaukee Track Club.

Hannah Gabriel
Women's Swimming

Hannah Gabriel won two events and swam on a winning relay team for Lawrence at the Lake Forest Triangular on Jan. 22. The freshman from Elmhurst, Ill., won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:14.59. She also took first in the 400 freestyle in 4:43.28. Gabriel swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay team, which finished in 2:01.54. Led by Gabriel, Lawrence split the meet. The Vikings defeated Carroll 76-24 and fell to Lake Forest 81-32.

Conor Klusendorf
Men's Basketball

Conor Klusendorf hit a career scoring high and helped Lawrence to split of a pair of games on Jan. 21-22. The sophomore forward from Chicago, Ill., scored a career-high 35 points, surpassing his previous high by 20 points, in a 112-103 overtime loss to Grinnell on Jan. 22. He hit 14 of 16 shots from the floor, grabbed five rebounds, handed out three assists, picked up a pair of blocks and had one steal. In an 89-86 double-overtime win over Knox on Jan. 21, Klusendorf scored 10 points, pulled down four rebounds, had two assists and two blocks. For the week, he averaged 22.5 points per game while shooting 79.2 percent from the floor.
