Emily Muhs
Cross Country
Emily Muhs ran to a career-best fourth-place finish at the UW-Whitewater Invitational on Sept. 18. Muhs, a junior from Janesville, Wis., ran to a time of 24 minutes, 17 seconds, on the difficult 6,000-meter course. Led by Muhs, who was named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week, Lawrence took fourth place in the team standings.
Bennett Pang
Men's Soccer
Bennett Pang helped Lawrence to a 2-0 record on the week, and he scored the only goal in Lawrence's 1-0 victory over Lake Forest on Sept. 18. Pang's goal in the 27th minute against the Foresters lifted Lawrence to the victory and moved the Vikings to 2-0 in conference play. Pang, a senior forward from Honolulu, Hawaii, also scored in the 27th minute in Lawrence's 4-2 victory over Edgewood on Sept. 15. Pang's goal against Edgewood gave Lawrence a 4-0 lead. Pang leads Lawrence with three goals and three assists for nine points this season.
John Pechan
Golf
John Pechan won the title at the Ripon College Invitational on Sept. 18-19 at Mascoutin Golf Club. A freshman from Bothell, Wash., Pechan earned his first career victory by carding scores of 79 and 75 on the par-72 layout. His score of 154 was three shots better than St. Norbert's Jacob Hebbard, who finished second at 157. It was the first career title for Pechan, who was playing in only his second collegiate tournament.
