Curran Carlile
Cross Country

Curran Carlile won his second individual title of the season as he raced to victory at Lawrence's Gene Davis Invitational on Oct. 9. The freshman from Portland, Ore., covered the 8,000-meter course in 26:22.89 to beat Carthage's Jake Mahaffey by almost five seconds. Carlile, who also won the Tom Barry Invitational to start the season, pulled away from a pair of Carthage runners over the final 500 meters to set a course record at Reid Golf Course. Led by Carlile, who was named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week, the Vikings placed second in the team standings.

Emily Muhs
Cross Country

Emily Muhs blew away the field at Lawrence's Gene Davis Invitational on Oct. 9. The junior from Janesville, Wis., won the 6,000-meter race in 19:40.71 seconds, besting the second-place finisher by 59 seconds. It was the first collegiate title of Muhs' career, and she led Lawrence to the team title. The Vikings finished first with 26 points, topping second-place UW-Whitewater, which had 49.

Jenny Roesch
Women's Tennis

Jenny Roesch posted a perfect 4-0 week to lead Lawrence to to the Midwest Conference North Division title. The sophomore from Cedarburg, Wis., went 2-0 at No. 2 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles. In a 6-3 victory over Ripon, Roesch won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and teamed with Beth Larson for an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles. Lawrence clinched the division title with a 6-3 victory over St. Norbert, with Roesch posting a 6-2, 6-2 victory in singles and teaming with Larson for an 8-5 win in doubles. Roesch, who was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week, improved to 8-6 in singles and 12-3 in doubles on the season.
