Stephen Exharos scored two goals and picked up an assist as Lawrence swept a pair of Midwest Conference matches on Oct. 16-17. In a 3-2 overtime victory over Illinois College on Oct. 17, the junior forward from Richland, Wash., scored the game-winning goal 3:21 into overtime when he blasted a shot from just inside the penalty box to break the 2-2 tie. Exarhos also scored on a brilliant header at the 15:19 mark off a free kick from Hashim Allah-Morad. In a 3-0 victory over Monmouth on Oct. 16, Exarhos provided the assist on the first goal of the game, which proved to be the game-winner.

Women's Tennis
Beth Larson and Jenny Roesch became the first No. 1 doubles team to win a Midwest Conference title in more than two decades when they captured the crown at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis., on Oct. 16. Larson, a junior from Maplewood, Minn., and Roesch, a sophomore from Cedarburg, Wis., beat Lake Forest's Nonie Carlson and Melika Celebic 6-1, 7-6 (7-1) for the championship. Larson and Roesch did not drop a set on the way to the title. Larson and Roesch became Lawrence’s first doubles champions since Serene Sahar and Susan Klumpner won at No. 2 doubles in 2005. Larson and Roesch are the first Lawrence team to win a No. 1 doubles title since Anita Salzberger and Krin Ringel won in 1988.
