Sarah Ehlinger scored three goals, picked up a career-high three assists and recorded a career-best nine points as Lawrence routed Ripon 8-3 on Oct. 30 in its only action of the week. The victory allowed Lawrence to clinch a berth in the Midwest Conference Tournament for the second consecutive season. The nine points is the second-highest game total in Lawrence history, trailing only the record of 12. Ehlinger, who was named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week, then scored unassisted just 37 seconds into the second half and added another goal in the 56th minute. She completed the hat trick with a goal in the 83rd minute and picked up an assist on Lawrence's final goal in the 88th minute.

Luke Galle
Football

Luke Galle did something in Lawrence's 29-23 victory over Beloit on Oct. 30 that a Lawrence linebacker hadn't done in more than two decades. The freshman linebacker from Madison, Wis., recorded a pair of interceptions, the first time a Lawrence linebacker had picked off two passes in a game since Eric Karnosky did it against Ripon on Nov. 4, 1989. Galle's first interception came in the third quarter with Lawrence nursing a 15-3 lead. Galle, who was named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week, picked off Beloit quarterback Brian Maughn at the Lawrence 20-yard line to snuff out a Bucs drive. Late in the fourth quarter with Lawrence up 29-16, Galle picked off Maughn at the Lawrence 31 to stop another drive. Galle, who finished with three tackles, also recovered a pair of on-sides kicks, including one with 52 seconds left to seal the win.

Johnson topped his previous career highs of nine catches and 146 yards, set earlier this season against St. Norbert. Johnson was involved in several big plays in addition to his touchdown catch. Johnson caught a 49-yard pass from Tyler Mazur to set up Lawrence’s first touchdown, which he scored on a four-yard pass play in the first quarter.
