Women's Swimming
Hannah Gabriel won a pair of events to lead the Lawrence women to a 136-81 victory over UW-River Falls on Nov. 13 in Boldt Natatorium. The freshman from Elmhurst, Ill., won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.63 and took the 500 freestyle in dominating fashion in 5:28.58, winning the event by more than 16 seconds. Gabriel also swam the opening leg on Lawrence's winning 400 freestyle relay team. That relay team swam to victory in 3:58.21 to win by 14 seconds.
Huck Saunders
Hockey
Huck Saunders led Lawrence to a weekend sweep of Lake Forest and was named the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Freshman of the Week. A freshman forward from Seattle, Wash., picked up his first career goal against the Foresters. In Lawrence's 4-1 win over visiting Lake Forest on Nov. 12, Saunders picked up a pair of assists. He followed that with the game-winning power-play goal in Lawrence's 4-2 victory at Lake Forest on Nov. 13. Saunders, who scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes left in the third period, also added an assist in the win.
