Goaltender Michael Baldino turned in a great game as Lawrence defeated St. Scholastica 4-2 in the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association/Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Thanksgiving Showdown on Nov. 26. The sophomore from Woburn, Mass., made 33 saves to earn his first collegiate victory. Baldino was named the MCHA Defensive Player of the Week. With Lawrence holding a one-goal lead late and an extra attacker on the ice for the Saints, Baldino made a pair of saves in the final minutes. Lawrence then sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.
