Kyle Dockery's first attempt at running the 10,000 meters was a good one. Running in an elite field at the Hillsdale Invitational on April 27, the freshman from Barrington, Ill., posted a time of 31:53.78. That is the top time in the Midwest Conference this season by more than 20 seconds.
Cathy Kaye
Softball
Cathy Kaye hit .438 on the week as Lawrence won a pair of games, including career win No. 300 for head coach Kim Tatro. The junior center fielder from Sturgeon Bay, Wis., went 7-for-16 and drove in five runs. Kaye had a pair of doubles and also belted a homer. She also went 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts. Kaye had a .474 on-base percentage and 1.224 OPS. She also was perfect in field and threw out a runner at the plate against Elmhurst.
