Anna Bolgrien

Anna Bolgrien won her first Midwest Conference championship and placed in another event at the Midwest Conference Championships on May 11-12 at St. Norbert. A freshman from Duluth, Minn., Bolgrien won the 400 hurdles in 1:05.60 at Schneider Stadium and narrowly missed Sarah Slivinski's Lawrence record of 1:05.52. Bolgrien beat Monmouth's Haley Jones (1:06.67) by more than a second for her first conference title. Bolgrien also grabbed sixth place in the 100 hurdles in 16.36 seconds.
Sam Stevens
Track and Field
Sam Stevens won the first outdoor conference track title of his career at the Midwest Conference Championships on May 11-12 at St. Norbert. A junior from Suamico, Wis., Stevens ran to victory in the 1,500 meters in 3:59.36 for his first outdoor title and the third of his track career. He edged Carroll University’s Joe Pliner, who finished second in 4:00.79. Stevens also raced to third place in the 3,000 steeplechase in 9:27.18.
