Men's Cross Country
The Lawrence men's cross country team captured team and individual titles at the Midwest Conference Championships at Ripon on Oct. 26. The Vikings took their first men's team title since 1985 with a winning score of 51 points, two points better than Grinnell. Leading the way for the Vikings was individual champion Sam Stevens. The junior from Suamico, Wis., covered the 8,000-meter course 25:09.11 to become Lawrence's first individual men's champion since 1985. The top five Vikings all earned all-conference honors with top-20 finishes. Curran Carlile was fifth in 25:37.79, Kyle Dockery was sixth in 25:40.04, Jamie Brisbois was 19th in 26:23.13 and Sam Estrem was 20th in 26:29.27.
