Gayatri Malhotra was unbeaten on the week and remained unbeaten in singles on the season for Lawrence. The junior from Litchfield Park, Ariz., posted a 3-0 record at No. 3 doubles and went 2-0 at No. 3 singles. In a 5-4 victory over Carthage on Sept. 4, Malhotra beat Erin Hendrickson 6-4, 6-2, and Malhotra defeated Aimee Neilan 6-3, 6-2, in an 8-1 victory over Knox on Sept. 9. Malhotra teamed with Polly Dalton in doubles for an 8-6 win against Carthage, an 8-3 win over Knox and an 8-2 victory over Marian on Sept. 9. The latter was part of Lawrence's 9-0 victory over the Sabres.
Rudi Pino
Golf
Rudi Pino tied for second place in his collegiate debut at the Marian Invitational on Sept. 9-10. The freshman from Vancouver, Wash., carded rounds of 74 and 80 on the par-72 layout at Whispering Springs Golf Club. Led by Pino, Lawrence placed third in the team standings.
