Jon Hope recorded career highs for interceptions and tackles in Lawrence's loss at Illinois College on Sept. 29. The senior linebacker from Eagle River, Wis., picked off two passes to push his team-leading total on the season to three. Hope also recorded 14 tackles, which topped his previous career high of eight earlier this season against Lake Forest. Hope has a team-high 36 tackles this season.
Sam Stevens
Cross Country
Sam Stevens led Lawrence to a 12th-place finish at the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 29 and was named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week for second consecutive week. The senior from Suamico, Wis., won the honor after he finished 29th among the 272 competitors and was the top Midwest Conference finisher in the event. Stevens covered the 8,000 meters in 26:43.5. Stevens also was the MWC Performer of the Week on Sept. 25 after finishing second at the UW-Whitewater Invitational on Sept. 22.
