Vikings of the Week are chosen throughout the school year by Lawrence University Sports Information Director Joe Vanden Acker. The honor is given to a student-athlete for his or her outstanding play, contributions to the team, significant achievements, record-setting performance, etc. On occasion, the honor is given to an entire team.

Week of March 4-10, 2013


Ian Pelton
Men's Fencing

Ian Pelton led Lawrence's contingent at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships at Notre Dame on March 9-10. A freshman from Brooklyn, N.Y., Pelton finished sixth in sabre with a 7-6 record. Pelton scored 49 touches and was plus-6 on touches for the championships.

Max Zlevor
Men's Tennis

In Lawrence's only action of the week, Max Zlevor didn't drop a game in singles and also won at No. 1 doubles on March 8. Zlevor, a senior from Racine, Wis., beat MSOE's Nick Matsuura 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles. Zlevor also teamed with Jason Dunn for an 8-6 victory over Matsuura and Eric Klamrowski at No. 1 doubles. Lawrence rolled to an 8-1 victory over MSOE to improve to 4-2 on the season.
