NCAA Division III Regional Championships in Peoria, Ill. (Nov. 12)
The Lawrence women finished 18th among the 39 teams, and Joy Manweiler took 42nd to pace the Vikings. The Lawrence men were 28th among the 34 teams, with Phil Keith finishing 140th to lead the Vikings.
Midwest Conference Championships at Grinnell College (October 29)
The Lawrence women placed second for the third consecutive season, with Joy Manweiler, Colleen Detjens, and Rachel Lucas earning all-conference honors for the Vikings. Manweiler placed 10th in 19:18 on the 5-kilometer course, and Detjens was 11th in 19:24. Phil Keith led the Lawrence men by taking 20th in 27:43 on the 8-kilometer course, and David Quinlan was 21st in 28:03.
Wisconsin Private College Championships at Edgewood College (October 15)
Joy Manweiler placed fifth overall in a time of 19 minutes, 41.7 seconds, on the 5,000-meter course to lead the Lawrence women to fourth place in the team standings in the 16-team event. The men placed seventh among the 14 teams, with David Quinlan leading the way. He placed 10th 27:43.6 in the 8,000-meter event.
Ripon College Invitational (October 8)
Colleen Detjens finished fifth overall to pace the Lawrence women, who were third in the team standings. Phil Keith grabbed 14th place to lead the Lawrence men, who finished sixth as a team.
Beloit College Old English Classic (October 1)
Joy Manweiler placed fourth to lead the Lawrence women, who finished third
in the team standings in the 14-team event. UW-Stout won the title with 37
points and Lawrence had 104. Manweiler completed the 5-kilometer course in
20 minutes, 13 seconds. Colleen Detjens was 11th (20:41), Alice Shepro was
22nd (21:48), Rachel Lucas was 29th (22:10), and Clare Shinners was 38th (22:42)
to round out the scoring for Lawrence. Completing Lawrence's top seven were
Julie DeBoer (63rd, 24:45) and Christine Gebler (71st, 25:15).
David Quinlan placed 29th in 28:26 over the 8-kilometer course to pace the Lawrence men, who didn't field a full team. Will Daniels was 70th (30:19), Russell Geisthardt took 73rd (30:20), and Evan Jacobson was 111th (32:08).
University of Minnesota Invitational (September 24)
The Lawrence women finished 17th in the team standings with 471 points. Joy Manweiler paced the Vikings by placing 39th in 24:25. Rounding out the scoring for the Vikings were: Colleen Detjens (74th), Rachel Lucas (102nd), Alice Shepro (113th), and Clare Shinners (143rd). The men's team finished 36th, and Phil Keith led Lawrence by taking 175th. David Quinlan (191st), Evan Jacobson (254th), and Russell Geisthardt (259th) completed the scoring for Lawrence.
