Keep up with the indicated pace of reading in each chapter for class.

Submit your solutions to the following problems, which are specific exercises from the end of chapter 4 of the book by Patterson and Hennessy, by 1:00 PM, Tuesday, 22 February 2011. You may hand in your work at Science Hall 131, if it is open, or at the faculty mailboxes in Briggs.

1. Exercise 4.17.4a
2. Exercise 4.18.1-2-3a
3. Exercise 4.19.1-2-3a
4. Exercise 4.21.1-2-3b
5. Exercise 4.26.1-2a
6. Exercise 4.27.1-2-3a (This may be a hard problem. Note that 4.27.2 raises the question of which exception is handled first, and that 4.27.3 inquires whether there will be correct functioning when the handler returns back into this program sequence.)
7. Exercise 4.37.4a

For work of this sort, some indication of method (not just final result) is appropriate.

Note that the final deadline for all written work in this course will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, 10 March 2011.
