Touched by an Uncle, which won the contest eight times during the 1990s, racked up 1,335 points out of a possible 2015 to win the first contest of the new century. Blood Bank of Kaukauna and This Time it's Personal finished second for the second year in a row after winning the off-campus title in 1997 and '98. Blood Bank finished with 1,190 points while Extra Phone Line $90, Additional Beer $80, Being an Iowan Priceless was third with 1,065 points.

The Yuais won its second straight on-campus championship with 1,264 points, edging Kohler Hall which finished with 1,160. Das Uber Team finished third with 903.

Touched by an Uncle received a dream catcher made from empty birth controlpill holders and a "Lust is all you need" button as a first-place prize. The Yuais were awarded an old mattress with the trivia contest design drawn on it.

Contest organizers estimated nearly 800 people played on 60 registered off-campus teams and nine on-campus teams. A total of 364 questions were asked during the 50-hour contest that ran from 10 p.m. Friday until midnight Sunday.

Blood Bank of Kaukauna was the only team to successfully answer this year's 100-point Super Garruda final question. They knew that in the movie "The World is Not Enough," the piece of contemporary sculpture that appears in the beginning chase scene was "Puppy" by artist Jeff Koons.
